Excellent and WiseI am training my own service dog and this book has been so beneficial My Jazzy accomplished her original service skills to be my balancing 3rd leg But then I lost the use of my legs but am now able to walk some with a walker so retraning is our goal I learned new approaches to old skills and feel encouraged to undertake our next steps.

A concise but instructive book that quickly walks you through all the basic obedience training methods needed as a foundation to create a good service dog Much of the book s advice is tailored towards those with severe disabilities, taking into account that they often cannot train dogs in the same way that trainers with no disabilities can, lending much needed encouragement and hope to those who wish to train their own dogs It draws on positive reinforcement and calm, assertive leadership as the best methods to train a dog, with most commands given their own concise and easy to understand chapters I plan to use the book as a reference point to help solidify my own understanding of dog training and help make it a positive experience and a part of my daily routine.

This is a should read for anyone who s looking to have a well behaved dog, abled and disabled alike.I purchased the pair of ebooks with the intention of preparing my dog for service work since I was finding myself in need of a companion out in public to ease my anxiety and ward off attacks These were the best rated I found on service dogs and the only books that actually taught training I ve read many training books in general, the subject one of my passions, but this one had a couple commands I d never thought to include in basic obedience.

For an introduction to solid basic dog training for people with all sorts of abilities and disabilities, this book is amazing in its unique approach and progression to the service dog specific training in Teamwork II.The DVDs that accompany the series are also extremely helpful My favorite part are the photos and stories of the service teams who have used these methods.
